R&D Activities are carried out under
the following broad heads.
1.
Standardisation
(i) Herbal Raw Material – standards have been set for
about 140 items including TLC finger printing
(ii) Minerals – 7 minerals have been studied to define
their standards including Copper, Silver, Gold etc.
(iii) Finished Products – 12 (SK), 10 (GK), 6 (Bhasmas)
& 6 (Others) products have been standardized.
2.
New Product Development
(i)
SDL – about 6 new products were developed for SDL of
which 5 have been launched successfully and 1 is the process
of the launch. 5 more products are in various stages of development.
(ii) SHL – about 9 new products developed have been
successfully launched. 3 products are in process of development.
(iii) Export – Massage oils, Single herb tablets, Medicated
wines and Chyavanprash without preservative was developed
for export.
3.
Process Development
(i)
Shodhan Process of Guggul was studied, improved and 12 products
were launched with Visheshshodhit Guggul.
(ii) Process of Bhasmikaran was improved for 6 Bhasmas to
improve their efficacy.
(iii) Process of Calcium group of Bhasmas was modified to
shorten the lead time and improve the quality.
(iv) Process of making Asawarishtas was improved to overcome
quality and stability related problems.
4.
Safety Studies
(i)
