Fruit has cooling character and has coagulating properties hence considered as best medicine for haematemesis, haemoptysis and epistaxis. Fruit and leaves have diuretic action. It reduces oedema and pain in urinary tract diseases. Fruit has healing, nourishing and rejuvenating properties hence used in chronic diseases producing debility, weakness and after abortion for healing. It also acts as an aphrodisiac. Its root skin acts as an effective anti-inflammatory agent. It is used in post-partum phase to reduce uterine inflammation and promote healing. Fruit has nourishing effect on heart.
