Properties and Uses

It is an effective analgesic agent. Its external application is used in inflammation, ulcers and painful conditions. It has digestive, carminative properties. It has styptic action on intestine due to its astringent nature hence used in the treatment of diarrhoea, dysentery. It has blood clotting properties hence effective in haemoptysis, bloody diarrhoea. It has anti-pyretic action and famously known as ‘wild cinchona. It relieves excessive thirst sensation in fever.
