Properties and Uses

Its root causes contraction of uterine muscles; when given in medicinal dosage have stimulating effect on uterus and ovary hence used in menstrual disorders. When given in post-partum phase it helps in contraction of uterus. Seeds have mild laxative action. Seeds also act as galactogogue hence given in lactating period. Seeds and leaves have diuretic properties.
