Properties and Uses

It increases salivary secretions, helps in cleansing of oral cavity, restores taste and relieves foul smell from mouth. Due to astringent nature it has styptic action on intestine hence used in diarrhoea, dysentery. It has styptic action on urinary system as well hence used in conditions with increased frequency of micturition. Its external application is used in oozing, chronic wounds. It has anthelmintic properties and used in worm infestation.
