Properties and Uses

It acts as cough expectorant and relieves foul smelling mucus hence used in chronic respiratory conditions producing lot of mucus. It increases blood circulation in lungs and bronchi and stops haemoptysis. It relieves flatulence. Oil is known as ‘Turpentine oil which has anthelmintic and anti-microbial properties. Oil is especially effective in treatment of Tape worm infestation. External application with turpentine is used in localized swellings. Oily gum form the wood has healing properties and is used for external application in wounds. Also used in treatment of white discharge.
